First Confessions at Ardcroney NS  added 26.03.26

Special evening in Ardcroney church to mark First Confession for our 2nd class boys and girls. It is a great occasion. Many thanks to Ms. Kirby for preparing the class so well and who sang so beautifully. Thanks to Fr Pat and parents for contributing to a lovely occasion.


Congratulations Gearoid White   added 25.03.26

Many congrats to Gearoid White in 6th class who, after three trials, was selected for Tipperary Hurling Schools Team. He will get to play in Semple Stadium, H/T between Tipperary & Clare. Great achievement and experience for him.


Inter-School Chess Tournament  added 25.03.26

Pupils from 3rd & 4th Class were delighted to be invited to Carrig NS recently to participate in a chess tournament. It was a huge success and all had a fantastic morning of fun and learning.


Rang 5 North American Project  added 23.03.26

Rang 5 have been learning all about the continent of North America over the past few weeks. The researched the USA states and made dreamcatchers connected to tribal communities. They also looked at the artist Ted Harrison and his Canadian images.


World Book Day  added 09.03.26

Lots of amazing book characters around Ardcroney NS on World Book Day. To mark the day, the classes enjoyed a lovely paired reading session. The younger children brought their favourite books to school and the older classes read the stories to them.

The older children wrote wonderful book reviews. Well done everyone for making it such a special day celebrating books and reading.


Engineering  Week in Ardcroney NS  added 09.03.26

5th Class took the lead be helping all classes take part in fun STEM activities all week. Junior Infants were the first to get involved. They explored BeeBots, built their own Lego-creations and completed fun challenges using lollipop sticks and bricks.


Storytelling in Rang 5  added 28.02.26

Students from Rang 5 spoke about a Myths and Legends story of their choice. We had examples of Irish, Roman, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and American mythology.

Well done to all. Fantastic Posters and PowerPoints.


Making Playdough  added 27.02.26

Junior Infants had great fun making their own playdough.


Spring Planting  added 25.02.26

Seniors & First Class are learning all about planting this week. They had a great time planting cress seeds and can't wait to see them grow.


Nenagh Library Visit  added 19.02.26

Juniors, Seniors and 1st Class had a wonderful trip to Nenagh Library. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were delighted to listen to the stories.

After story time the children took part in a colouring activity which was a great hit by all. A big thank you to Margaret and the staff for making the visit so enjoyable.


Spring is in the Air in Junior Infants  added 13.02.26

Spring has truly sprung in Junior Infants as they painted beautiful daffodils to welcome the season.


Credit Union Schools Quiz  added 10.02.26

Well done to our U11 & U13 teams who represented our school so well in the Credit Unions Quiz recently.

Our U11 team finished 3rd overall after two nail-biting tie-breaker rounds!


VEX Robotics Championships  added 09.02.26

5th class recently took part in the VEX Robotics Championships at Dell Technologies in Limerick. It was their first time participating and they performed exceptionally well!. A huge well done to Ms. Nolan and her class, who have dedicated so much time and effort on this project over the past few months.


Patchwork for St Brigid's Day  added 05.02.26

2nd & 3rd class worked together to make a beautiful patchwork cloak to celebrate St. Brigid's Day


Teddy Bear History  added 04.02.26

Senior and First class were learning all about the history of a Teddy Bear. They brought their teddies to school for the day to see all the different kinds we have in todays world.


Juniors in Full Supermarket Mode  added 04.02.26

Junior infants have been busy learning all about the Supermarket. The classroom was full of little shopkeepers and customers as the children took turns in running their own shop. The stacked shelves, made yummy items to sell in the shop with playdough and even built their own supermarkets complete with trolleys. The children wrote their own shopping lists just like grown ups!


The DIY Academy at Ardcroney NS  added 28.01.26

5th & 6th class are really enjoying the DIY Academy. Lots of hands on action and learning. I'm sure some of us adults could do with this too!

Chess lessons resume for 2nd - 6th class  added 16.01.26

Great to have John Alfred back again this year for chess lessons with 2nd - 6th class students.


County Handball Champions  added 15.01.26

Congratulations to our Cumann na mBunscoil County Handball Champions. Gearoid and Ali now go forward to represent our school and their county in the Munster competition on March 1st.

Ali gave an outstanding performance, winning the u11 girls singles competition.

Gearoid put in a phenomenal effort to win the highest contested u13 boys singles final. All at Ardcroney NS are extremely proud of you. Huge congratulations to all who took part.

Well done also to Adam and Fionn who played to a high standard in the u13 doubles.
