3rd – 6th class went on their school tour to Ballyhass, Coachford Site in Co Cork. It was a great day. We had so such fun.
Here’s what happened.
First, I woke up at 6.10amand got ready. Then I went downstairs to have breakfast. After that, my brother and I went to school. When we arrived, it was 6.45am. We got on the bus and started our journey. It took two hours to get there.
We were assigned with our coach. We headed to do archery. First, we learned how to hold the bow and shoot the arrow. Then, we played a game called “Around the World”. To play you have to shoot an arrow and if it hit the bulls eye you would get to go to Hawaii and if it hit the outside of the board you would go to the Antartica. If you missed you would go nowhere.
After that, we went to the Aqua Splash. First, we put on our wetsuits, life jackets and if you wanted to googles. Then, we swam out to the Aqua Splash. We had so much fun jumping into the water and going down slides. Then we swam back and had some lunch at the picnic table.
Our next activity was high nets. The high nets were like an outdoor trampoline. There was loads of slides and we even played tag. We also did a fun racing game. You had to catch the person in front of you.
Next, we did team work games. We had to make a square from random shapes! We had to get into 3 teams. One person was blindfolded and two people gave them instructions. They had to find a number they hadn’t got. Unfortunately, then it was time to go home.
I think it was a great school tour. We had so so much fun. I would highly recommend.

Juniors, Seniors, First and Second class went on their school tour to Turoe Pet Farm in Loughrea, Co Galway. They had a wonderful day. Firstly, the children played in the soft play area. They then got to meet all the animals and even got to feed some of them. Some of the children even spotted a crocodile in the river! They played in the sandpit and the playgrounds. The highlight of the day was the biggest bouncy castle the children had ever seen! We were so tired on the way home some of the children had a little nap.

Ardcroney NS 3rd - 6th Class School Tour to Dublin added 20.04.2018
Collins Barracks

On Wednesday the 18th April 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th class went on their school tour. We all left the school in two buses at 8am. Everyone was really excited on the bus and couldn't wait to arrive in Dublin. When we arrived in Dublin, we first went to Collins Barracks which is part of the National History Museum. We waited in the huge courtyard for the tour guides to get ready. The 6th class tour guide was Lisa. She brought us around the back of the building into the 1916 area. There were lots of interesting artefacts when we entered. We were first shown a printed copy of the Proclamation. Lots of copies were printed during Easter 1916. There were metal letter blocks which were used in a printing press to print the copies. There were guns on display which were used in the fighting. A certain gun had a muzzle bent from another soilders bullet. There were uniforms and important supplies on show as well. Some important letters written to inform people of surrender or retreat were behind glass. These letters were written by Eoin Mac Neill and Padraig Pearse. Flags that were flown during the Rising were also under cases. They were very old and worn. Personal belongings which were important to the Seven Rising Leaders were on display in a special place. The tour ended after we had seen the main artefacts and important belongings. It was very interesting. Overall we loved the tour and thanked the tour guide and the Museum for having us and it was a brilliant tour.

School Tour 2017 - 3,4,5,&6th Class
Our school tour took place on Monday 12th June. The excitement started as soon as we found out where we were going. When it was only days away everyone was so full of excitement. When we first got off the bus everyone's face lit up. It was everything we imagined. Then we were divided into groups. We then went down to the lake. No one even thought how cold the water could be until it hit us. After that we went on the water park and it was amazing.
Next we went into the forest to roast marshmallows and we figured hunger is the best sauce. On we went squelching along to the peddle boats. There was a few collisions, a few pile ups but that was half the fun.
From there, we had go- cart races while trying to figure out jigsaws. With relief, we peeled off our wet suits and we marched backed to the bus. It was probably one of the best school tours ever!!!

School Tour 2017 - Junior & Senior infants, 1st & 2nd Class
Friday's (02/06) fabulous sunshine set the stage for a fun filled day at Turoe Pet farm. Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First and Second class eagerly boarded the buses. Fun and chatter on the way meant that in no time at all we found our destination.
Divided then into smaller groups ensured everybody could get a flavour of the adventures ahead. The opportunity to feed the animals proved a real treat. Of particular interest was, what seems like a very welcoming lama! Some of us even got to see 'Farmer Pat's pet crocodile' under the bridge.
Beautiful sunshine made a trip to the playground an absolute must!
The Ardcroney pupils with great zeal and energy fully tested "Inflatable city" which, it is claimed is the biggest bouncy castle in Ireland. A range of other fun filled activities in Jungle Town were enjoyed by our boys and girls.
Though, a little tired at the end of a very busy day, the smiling faces gave the 2017 tour a very definite (10/10).
