Christmas Jumper Collection added 19.12.25

We were delighted to present the proceeds of our Christmas Jumper Collection to Mr. Paddy Heffernan on behalf of North Tipperary Hospice. A great cause and charity that does exceptional work.

Festive afternoon tea in 3rd & 4th Classes

Christmas Mass and Advent Celebrations added 18.12.25

What an incredible Mass and celebration of advent and Christmas in Ardcroney church. All the children were excellent, they read, sang, played tin whistle and acted superbly.

It was lovely to see the real meaning of Christmas in action. Special mention to our junior infants for their first school Christmas mass, they performed the Nativity Story so well and our 6th class on their last school Christmas mass on Ardcroney National School.

Many thanks to all our staff for preparing the children so well, Ann for preparing the church for us, Fr Pat for leading our celebration and to all the families who shared this special morning with us.

Great spooktacular finish for mid-term. The boys, girls and helpers at home did an excellent job on very creative costumes. Great fun was had by all!

McCarthy & James Nolan Cups visit Ardcroney NS added 01.11.25

Great excitement at Ardcroney NS recently with the arrival of some special guests. A huge thanks to Craig Morgan, Jake Morris, Darragh McCarthy, Lenny Gaynor and Gary O'Connor for bringing the McCarthy Cup and the James Nolan Cup to visit us. It was a great occasion for everyone.

Math's Week at Ardcroney NS added 01.11.25

Juniors, Seniors, 3rd, 4th & 6th classes joined forces to complete an online Zoom Maths Quizzes for Maths Week. They were challenging but very enjoyable!

VEX Robot Project at Ardcroney NS added 30.10.25

Well done to students in 5th class who completed their VEX Robot recently. That also built their arena to practice for the upcoming competition.

Discover Ireland Project added 28.10.25

Rang 5 completed and presented wonderful project work on Tourist Attractions located in Ireland. We listened to presentations on the Cliffs of Moher, Ulster Aviation Centre, Kilkenny castle and many more. Who needs to go abroad when these wonderful places are on our doorstep.

Cycle Safe at Ardcroney NS added 03.09.25

Thanks to Richard and Natasha from Cycle Safe Ireland who taught our 6th class vital rules and tips for safe cycling. While the sessions were very important and informative, lots of fun was has to!

A Warm Welcome - Junior Infants class of 2025 added 02.09.25

5th Class - A Class Book to end the year added 25.06.25

5th class have taken part in creating a Class Book for the end of the year. For the last few weeks the students have been planning and drafting their written pieces. They have now completed their official pages, along with the front cover and meet the authors page. We have sent the box back and now wait in anticipation for our published books to arrive.

Tree Planting Ceremony added 25.06.25

To mark Mr. Ryan's retirement, 6th class presented him with an oak tree - a symbol of strength, growth and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

Teddy Bears Picnic for Junior Infants added 24.06.25

Medal Presentation for U13 Girls added 24.06.25

Mr. Kelly (Offaly Senior Hurler) presented our U13 girls with their medals in recognition of reaching the Cumann na mBunscoil County Final. Jack was also presented with a medal for helping Mr. Ryan coach the girls.

Raising of the latest Green Flag added 23.06.25

Great excitement as the new Green Flag was raised at Ardcroney NS. The committee asked Mr. Ryan & Margaret to raise the flag in honour of their retirements and as a thank you for their kindness and commitment to the children.

Annual Devils Bit Climb added 22.06.25

Fantastic day out for 6th class on their annual school hike to the Devils Bit! Sunshine and showers, breathtaking views and of course the customary "99" on the way back to Ardcroney.

Sports Hour for Junior Infants added 19.06.25

6th Class organised a sports hour for the junior infants, a great time was had by all.

Well done to our U13 girls on reaching the Cumann na mBunscoil County Final. It was a great achievement. Congratulations to Upperchurch.

Judo Classes at Ardcroney NS added 16.05.25

All the students of Ardcroney NS have embarked on an eight week judo program to finish out their school year.

They will learn basic gymnastics, balance & coordination, a variety of physical challenges as well as the Olympic sport of Judo.

Green Schools Awards added 14.05.25

Ardcroney National School had a fantastic day at the Green Schools Awards Ceremony in Kilkenny where Albie and Isobel (Green School Committee members) along with Ms O'Brien and Ms Conroy travelled to accept our Travel flag.

DIY Academy - End Result added 25.02.25

Rang 5 and 6 finished up with their DIY Academy workshop recently. They put all their skills learned over the last few weeks together to create a lovely bench/flower bed for the school yard.

Analog Devices Robotics Competition added 05.02.25

5th Class had a fantastic afternoon recently. They had registered to take part in the Analog Devices Schools Robotics Competition and they were lucky to get picked out.

Rang 5 worked in teams to build a Lego Robot. They then used coding to make their Lego Robot complete a set of instructions.
