Aister - Homes added 11.10.23

Junior & Senior Infants were recently learning about "Homes" during Aister. The children loved playing in the role play station where they cooked dinner for the family, looked after babies and went shopping for groceries.

At the small world station, they played dolls house. They designed their own homes at the construction station and made their own furniture using playdoh. At the cutting & sticking station they cut out furniture and arranged in the correct rooms in their homes.

8 Week Adapted School Judo & Sign Language Course added 09.06.23

147 students from Ardcroney National School completed an 8 week Adapted School Judo and Iris Sign Language Course. The course comprised of judo lessons, basic gymnastics, learning through play and Irish sign language. Congratulations to all students, you all showed a great willingness to learn something new.

Eggciting Times in 1st & 2nd Class added 30.03.23

Ms O Meara put some eggs in the incubator. The incubator keeps the eggs warm like a hen would so that after 21 days the eggs hatch. The children kept a close eye on the eggs and counted down the days 1,2,3,4.................. Eventually on day 21 the first egg hatched and then two days later two more arrived . We now have 8 fluffy cute little baby chicks!!!!!! The children were so excited. It was all worth the wait!! Each class took it in turns to go to see the chicks.

Aistear - The Three Little Pigs added 28.03.23

Junior & Senior Infants enjoyed the fairytale "The Three Little Pigs" during Aistear for the month of March.

The children had great fun acting out the 3 little pigs story. They sequenced the story, dressed up the 3 little pigs and built the little pigs houses with lego. They really loved making heir own houses with straw, sticks and bricks.

Last week , Ardcroney NS was a buzz of excitement as local successful author Damian Lawlor paid a visit. He spoke about his journey to becoming the esteemed writer he is today.

He was met with plenty of questions from both young and old and a great day was had by all!!

Aistear - Spring on the Farm added 10.03.23

For the month of February, Junior and Senior Infants learning all about Spring and the Farm for Aistear. They played with the small farm animals and machinery.

They made cattle sheds and hay sheds from polydrons and lego. They painted pigs, cows, daffodils and snowdrops at the art station. Lastly, we wrote about what we see on the farm. below are some visuals of our experiences.

Judo & Sign Language at Ardcroney NS added 19.02.23

All classes embraced the challenge of learning both Judo and Irish Sign Language in one six week course. It was enjoyed so much that we are going to continue the challenge with a continuation course after the Easter break.

Aistear Theme - The Hospital added 03.02.23

Junior & senior infants have been learning all about the Doctors Surgery for Aistear. We took on the roles of doctor, nurse, secretary and patients in role play.

We used the correct equipment and tools the doctor use. At the construction station we built hospitals and ambulances in Lego. We turned our dolls house into a hospital to take care of all the sick.

We made our own doctors bag and stethoscopes. We had so much fun. This was one of our favourite themes so far. Here are some pics
