Girls Soccer Tournament <\/strong>added 05.06.26<\/p>\n

What a fantastic display of soccer at our annual 4th, 5th and 6th class Girls Soccer Tournament. Well done to our fabulous four teams and congratulations to “Liverpool” for winning the cup.<\/p>\n

A huge thanks to James Fahey of Ardcroney FC for organising our day and arranging sponsorship from local company Paveaway for\u00a0 the girls inscribed Medals and Cup.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Aine, Shauna, Sophie and Lily from Ardcroney FC for helping and refereeing and David Dunne for post tournament snacks. Thanks also to Ms O’Brien for coordinating the teams and fixtures and ensuring the day ran smoothly.<\/p>\n

Our annual 8 weeks Judo\/basic gymnastics\/PE course came to an end this week. Congratulations to all the students who took part with enthusiasm and excitement each week. Thanks to James of Black Eagle Judo<\/p>\n

Well done to 5th class students who presented their Dream Destination Projects this week. They had to choose a location that they would love to visit.<\/p>\n

We had projects on Japan, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, Texas, Nashville, New Mexico and Beziers in France.<\/p>\n

Nenagh Garda District Sports Day 2026\u00a0 <\/strong>added 05.06.26<\/p>\n

Many thanks to Nenagh Garda District for a super fun Sports Day in McDonagh Park. Ice-cream was well deserved in the beautiful Summer sun.<\/p>\n

School Tour time for Juniors, Seniors and first Class\u00a0 <\/strong>added 05.06.26<\/p>\n

Junior Infants, Senior Infants and first Class had a fantastic day on their school tour to Turoe Pet Farm. The children loved meeting and feeding the animals, and some even spotted Tom the crocodile hiding under the bridge! The highlight of the day was definitely Inflatable City, where everyone had great fun. There were certainly lots of tired boys and girls\u00a0 going home that evening after such an exciting and memorable day.<\/p>\n

Pottery Making in Junior Infants\u00a0 <\/strong>added 05.06.26<\/p>\n

Junior Infants made their own clay bowls and had great fun painting and decorating them.<\/p>\n

Typing Skill Training at Arcroney NS\u00a0 <\/strong>added 18.05.26<\/p>\n

Great start with our new set of laptops. 6th class learning word processing and typing skills to help them with their future studies. Thanks to BOM and parents Association for funding the laptops and to James from Webtech Irl<\/a> for supplying and setting up.<\/p>\n

Confirmation Class of 2026\u00a0 <\/strong>added 15.05.26<\/p>\n

Congratulations to our 6th class on the celebration of their Confirmation. They did their families, school and parish proud. Many thanks to Bishop Fintan Monahan for lovely ceremony and words, Fr Pat for all his support throughout the year and the Choir for adding so much to the occasion.<\/p>\n

Green School Committee in Action <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 15.05.26<\/p>\n

Our Green School Committee did a fabulous job planting our summer window boxes. well done boys and girls and thanks to Ms. O’Brien for leading our committee. A big thanks to The Courtyard Garden Centre, Cloughjordan who kindly donated the flowers to the school.<\/p>\n

Wildlife Expert visit to Ardcroney NS <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 10.05.26<\/p>\n

Our pupils really enjoyed a visit from Wildlife expert Tony Kenneally. Using stuffed birds of prey, the children got to see and touch birds such as Sparrow Hawk and Falcon, exploring how birds of prey adapt for hunting and their interactions between them and their prey. The students went outside looking for common garden birds and tried to identify them by their sound. A wonderful experience was had by all.<\/p>\n

Grandparents and Loved Ones Day at Ardcroney NS <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 06.05.26<\/p>\n

What an amazing day in our school, Grandparents and Loved Ones day was a very special day and memory for our 1st % 5th class pupils. We’re sure the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids. Many thanks to Ms. Nolan and Ms. Quigley for leading the activities and for all our staff for helping and supporting in various ways.\u00a0Thanks to our Parents association for serving refreshments throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Ardcroney NS was delighted to welcome the Harty Cup winners, Nenagh CBS to our school. Great to welcome all the lads and teachers. Special welcome to past students Shane Cleary and Billy O’Brien. These young men are an inspiration and super role models for our pupils. Lots of happy cousin reunions!. Extra special for Ms Conroy to welcome her own son Billy back, this time as a Harty Cup winner.<\/p>\n

Many congrats to Gearoid White in 6th class who, after three trials, was selected for Tipperary Hurling Schools Team. He will get to play in Semple Stadium, H\/T between Tipperary & Clare. Great achievement and experience for him.<\/p>\n

Pupils from 3rd & 4th Class were delighted to be invited to Carrig NS recently to participate in a chess tournament. It was a huge success and all had a fantastic morning of fun and learning.<\/p>\n

Rang 5 have been learning all about the continent of North America over the past few weeks. The researched the USA states and made dreamcatchers connected to tribal communities. They also looked at the artist Ted Harrison and his Canadian images.<\/p>\n

World Book Day <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 09.03.26<\/p>\n

Lots of amazing book characters around Ardcroney NS on World Book Day. To mark the day, the classes enjoyed a lovely paired reading session. The younger children brought their favourite books to school and the older classes read the stories to them.<\/p>\n

The older children wrote wonderful book reviews. Well done everyone for making it such a special day celebrating books and reading.<\/p>\n

5th Class took the lead be helping all classes take part in fun STEM activities all week. Junior Infants were the first to get involved. They explored BeeBots, built their own Lego-creations and completed fun challenges using lollipop sticks and bricks.<\/p>\n

Storytelling in Rang 5 <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 28.02.26<\/p>\n

Students from Rang 5 spoke about a Myths and Legends story of their choice. We had examples of Irish, Roman, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and American mythology.<\/p>\n

Juniors, Seniors and 1st Class had a wonderful trip to Nenagh Library. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were delighted to listen to the stories.<\/p>\n

After story time the children took part in a colouring activity which was a great hit by all. A big thank you to Margaret and the staff for making the visit so enjoyable.<\/p>\n

5th class recently took part in the VEX Robotics Championships at Dell Technologies in Limerick. It was their first time participating and they performed exceptionally well!. A huge well done to Ms. Nolan and her class, who have dedicated so much time and effort on this project over the past few months.<\/p>\n

Senior and First class were learning all about the history of a Teddy Bear. They brought their teddies to school for the day to see all the different kinds we have in todays world.<\/p>\n

Juniors in Full Supermarket Mode <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 04.02.26<\/p>\n

Junior infants have been busy learning all about the Supermarket. The classroom was full of little shopkeepers and customers as the children took turns in running their own shop. The stacked shelves, made yummy items to sell in the shop with playdough and even built their own supermarkets complete with trolleys. The children wrote their own shopping lists just like grown ups!<\/p>\n

County Handball Champions <\/b>\u00a0<\/b>added 15.01.26<\/p>\n

Congratulations to our Cumann na mBunscoil County Handball Champions. Gearoid and Ali now go forward to represent our school and their county in the Munster competition on March 1st.<\/p>\n

Ali gave an outstanding performance, winning the u11 girls singles competition.<\/p>\n

Gearoid put in a phenomenal effort to win the highest contested u13 boys singles final. All at Ardcroney NS are extremely proud of you. Huge congratulations to all who took part.<\/p>\n

Well done also to Adam and Fionn who played to a high standard in the u13 doubles.<\/p>\n
